The resulting changes obtained by traditional genetic means (not GMO), brings numerous questioning and motivated BIONOV to do further research : the melons last longer partially due to their high level of active antioxidants content (in particular Superoxide Dismutase).

The scientific community’s interest in antioxidant substances and the attractiveness of a 100 % vegetal SOD product at a time when there were many disappointments in products of animal origin, motivated us to pursue our research to obtain pulp substances from melons. 

BIONOV’s research, completed at the end of the 1990’s, allowed us to internationally patent and begin the industrialization of our manufacturing process. After 15 years of research, we are now able to offer a vegetal SOD product that can be used as an ingredient in the nutraceutical, cosmetic and animal nutrition sectors.
